Job Summary

Job Overview

We are looking for a Data Analyst to help validate and analyze environmental and regulatory data. The role involves working with large datasets checking data quality testing data models and supporting data architecture decisions.

This role is mostly remote but candidates must be located in Alberta and attend office meetings occasionally.

Key Responsibilities Data Validation

Test data models using real datasets
Validate historical monitoring and reporting data
Identify data issues and edge cases early

Data Analysis

Analyze data consistency and measurement accuracy
Handle unit conversions and normalization
Check date time and data type consistency
Recommend safe standardization approaches

Analytical Testing

Create analytical views and test queries
Validate trend analysis and aggregation behavior
Ensure the system can handle large datasets efficiently

Required Skills

Strong SQL and data analysis skills
Experience with data modeling and data validation
Knowledge of data quality and normalization
Ability to work with large datasets
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Work Model
Hybrid role in Alberta
Mostly remote work
Office visit required once a month
Must work remotely from within Alberta
