The Family Practice Renewal Program (FPRP) aims to advance family practice for better health. We work closely with family medicine physicians policymakers and community organizations to identify opportunities for change and work towards solutions within primary care. Our vision is to see family physicians primary health care providers and patients working together for an effective and sustainable system.


What Youll Do

Reporting to and assisting the Program Director Family Practice Renewal Program (FPRP) the Data Analyst will play a key role in developing the infrastructure for data management delivering data analytics creating dashboards and reporting tools to support operations.

Success in this role requires data integrity and effective utilization of data analytics tools to automate dashboards providing meaningful insights to support informed decision making.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Data Governance & Integrity: Develop and implement the infrastructure for data management delivering data analytics creating dashboards and reporting tools to support operations while upholding high standards of data integrity and compliance.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Support the Program Director and program management in the development operationalization and ongoing maintenance of program data analytics dashboards and reporting tools. Generate data-driven reports that are meaningful insightful and support decision-making across the organization including delivering clinical and access performance metrics to physicians.
  • Data Inventory & Compliance: Maintain and update databases including an online portal ensuring a high degree of accuracy and quality. Provide accurate and timely data to support program evaluation monitoring and compliance activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management: Support physician engagement through data-informed program materials communications and educational resources. Collaborate with internal teams and partners to identify and address program data needs maximizing the effective use of data in decision-making.
  • Technology & Process Optimization: Facilitate the integration of new technologies to document data definitions reporting logic and processes to support consistency knowledge sharing and sustainability. Streamline workflows and improve overall efficiency in reporting.
  • Program Support: Complete other duties as required to support the priorities and initiatives.

What Youll Bring

  • Bachelors degree in management information systems Data Analytics Computer Science Health Informatics Public Health or another related fieldKB1 .
  • Minimum 3 years experience in information management analytics reporting business continuity or digital transformation.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing health-related datasets (ie physician workforce data health system utilization primary care performance indicators or billing systems) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to streamline processes and implement practical solutions.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools including Advanced Microsoft Excel skills SQL for data extraction and/or querying data visualization tools such as Power BI Tableau. Experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS Python) and/or data collection administration via the Microsoft Office suite would be an asset.
  • Proven ability to develop dashboards briefing notes and reports tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences to support decision making.
  • Experience working with privacy-sensitive health data and a solid understanding of data governance principles.
  • Flexible and able to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environmentKB2 .
  • Self-motivated results-driven and action oriented.
  • Strong analytical organizational and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Term

This position is a contract through September 30th 2028 with the possibility for review and/or extension at the end of the contract.

  • The salary range for this position is $70200 to $95000 with placement within this range commensurate with education and experience.

  • You must reside in Newfoundland and Labrador within a 2-hour commute to St. Johns to attend in-person meetings at own expense.
  • Regular work hours are 9 to 5 Monday to Friday with some flexibility to work outside these hours. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
