the Role

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology Faculty of Arts at Mount Royal University invites applications for a part-time sessional appointment for the Fall semester (September 3 2026 to December 22 2026).We are seeking instructors with the ability to teach the following course:

• Wednesdays 1:00 pm - 3:50 pm In person

• Instruction: course delivery including preparation of course outline course activities lesson preparation and assessments and course Blackboard site; and
• Administration: submit course attendance sheets course outline signature forms input final grades upon course completion and participate in scheduled program meetings.

• Masters degree in Sociology with preference for applicants who are either pursuing a Ph.D or those who have completed their Ph.D in Sociology.
• Demonstrated recordof research or teaching experience andscholarlyexpertiseonintersectionalfeminist theoriesBlack Feminist TheoriesCritical Race theory Feminist works from the Global Southand/or Indigenous feministtheory.
• A preference for candidates who incorporate critical sociology Indigenous ways of knowing and/or decolonization into their core course content
• The successful candidate will be required to provide the University with academic transcripts from their degree-granting institutions. Employment contracts will be rescinded if the requirements are not met.
