As an Intern Cost and Data Analyst you will join the Resource Forecasting and Estimating team in Mississauga and contribute to data-driven decision-making through cost analysis reporting and resource planning activities. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to business analytics cost estimating and project controls within a dynamic engineering environment.
Your role
- Support project staff in entering and maintaining resource demand data within resource management systems
- Prepare reports on staff availability and coordinate with Technical and Functional Managers to verify and update information
- Assist with the preparation of weekly reports using Excel and Power BI
- Analyze resource demand data to identify variances and support reporting on key trends and drivers
- Support cost analysts in the preparation of cost estimates and cost input data for projects and bids
- Prepare cost models for low-complexity and low-value bids
- Assist Business Analysts Cost Analysts and Management with ad hoc reporting and data analysis activities
About you
- Ability to work effectively with large volumes of numerical data and perform detailed analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint
- Aptitude for data analysis reporting and problem-solving
- Proficiency with Power BI is an asset
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary Engineering Business Economics or Mathematics program
