Our leadership and expertise span the entire value chain from research and development through construction operation and maintenance of projects. Currently involved in some of Canadas largest infrastructure projects ACCIONA delivers solutions that contribute to the economic and social progress of the communities in which it operates.

The Cost Analyst plays a key role within the Commercial department by transforming project cost data into actionable insights. This role focuses on data integration analysis and visualization to enhance cost forecasting accuracy monitor financial performance and support strategic decision-making.

Working cross-functionally with Finance Procurement Project Controls and Construction Management the analyst ensures data consistency across systems and develops scalable reporting solutions to improve cost visibility and project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost forecasting through data-driven models scenario analysis and predictive insights.

• Design and optimize data structures aligned with the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) to improve reporting efficiency and traceability.

• Develop and maintain automated cost reporting tools dashboards and data models to support project performance tracking.

• Ensure data quality governance and standardization across project control systems.

• Analyze cost data (actuals commitments forecasts) to identify trends variances and financial risks.

• Integrate and reconcile data from multiple sources (ERP systems procurement tools scheduling platforms) to ensure consistency and reliability.

• Collaborate with project teams to translate business requirements into analytical solutions and reporting outputs.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including earned value metrics and provide insights on project performance.

• Support change management analysis by quantifying cost impacts using historical data and trend analysis.

• Track and allocate project expenses ensuring proper cost code assignment and alignment with budgeted work items.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data analysis project controls or cost control within construction or infrastructure projects.

• Bachelors degree in engineering Data Analytics Finance Economics or related field.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel; strong experience with SQL and data manipulation.

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI Tableau).

• Understanding of cost control principles budgeting and forecasting in project environments.

• Familiarity with earned value management (EVM) and project scheduling concepts (CPM).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets.
