About the role:
Reporting to the Water Management Lead the Water Management Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing the sites water management program by supporting water management infrastructure monitoring programs data management and reporting regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives. The Coordinator serves as the primary day-to-day technical resource for the water management program and works closely with Operations Mine Engineering Environment Projects consultants and contractors to support both operational and strategic water management objectives.
This is a dynamic role that combines technical office work with regular field activities. Success in this position requires developing a strong understanding of the sites water management systems through routine field inspections verification of water management instrumentation and close collaboration with Operations. Field work will vary throughout the year depending on operational priorities seasonal conditions and project requirements requiring the ability to work safely and effectively in an active mining environment.

- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Maintain and update water balance model supporting water accounting forecasting and operational decision-making.
- Coordinate hydrometric and flow monitoring programs ensuring data quality system reliability and timely maintenance of monitoring infrastructure.
- Conduct routine field inspections troubleshooting and performance verification of water management infrastructure hydrometric stations and flow metering systems to support reliable operation and accurate water accounting.
- Support risk analysis through data collection and interpretation.
- Support implementation and tracking of regulatory commitments related to water management plans water management facilities and water licences.
- Provide technical editing of permitting applications and regulatory submissions.
- Complete budget planning for water projects and ensure project management standard methodologies are applied.
- Collaborate with Operations Mine Engineering Environment and external stakeholders to support both short- and long-term water management objectives.
- Advise on surface water groundwater and hydrology monitoring programs.
- Prepare and review data and reports to meet regulatory and other commitments including presentation of technical information to a variety of audiences
- Degree or diploma in Environmental Science Environmental Engineering Biology Forestry Agriculture or a related field
- 25 years of experience supporting water management environmental management hydrology or mining operations
- Registered or eligible to apply as a qualified professional such as RP BIO . RPF or related designation is an asset
- Experience with data analysis QA/QC and reporting.
- Comfortable working in or experience working in an active mining environment with regular field exposure in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Demonstrated ability to balance office-based technical work with routine field inspections and operational support
- Experience with hydrometric data collection and systems and maintaining or supporting Water Balance Models (GoldSim experience is considered an asset).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite: Excel PowerPoint and Word
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent
