This position reports to the Supervisor Preboarding and is responsible for supporting hires going through their pre-day 1 requirements for a safe successful start at Nutrien. This role manages onboarding paperwork background screenings and system transactions while serving as a key point of contact for hires hiring managers and HR partners.

What Youll Do:

  • Develop a strong understanding of Nutriens HR policies procedures and hiring requirements across the U.S. Canada and Trinidad & Tobago to provide accurate guidance and recommendations while ensuring compliance. Escalate complex or sensitive matters as appropriate
  • Become a subject matter expert in SuccessFactors Onboarding providing guidance and support to hiring managers internal partners and hires throughout the preboarding process
  • Track hires progress ensuring required forms documents and electronic signatures are completed accurately and within established timelines
  • Review hire documentation for compliance with legislative and company requirements proactively following up with new hires to resolve missing or incomplete information
  • Conduct background check activities by initiating through vendor portals monitoring progress following up on outstanding items and partnering with HR teams to address any concerns or discrepancies
  • Coordinate drug and medical screening processes including scheduling appointments tracking completion status and collaborating with Talent Attraction teams to support timely hiring decisions
  • Monitor preboarding-related activities and support hiring managers by providing reminders guidance and assistance to ensure tasks are completed on time and in accordance with established processes
  • Handle confidential employee information with the highest level of professionalism ensuring privacy and data security standards are maintained
  • Review and validate employee data as it moves between systems ensuring information is accurate and complete. Partner with HR Talent Acquisition and other HR Operations/technical teams to resolve any issues
  • Investigate and troubleshoot onboarding system issues working closely with system administrators and IT teams to deliver timely and effective solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by participating in training system testing development of team documentation and best practices and process enhancements to elevate employee onboarding experience

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Commerce or equivalent work experience in lieu of
  • 2 years experience working in an HR Administrator or Coordinator role
  • Experience working with an HRIS system such as SuccessFactors/SAP or Workday
  • Experience using SuccessFactors Recruitment Onboarding or Employee Central modules is desired
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook Teams Word Excel) or equivalents
  • Experience in dealing with Canadian and US HR data and legislative requirements
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and ad-hoc requests
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule during peak hiring periods including occasional overtime and weekends when needed
