Cook Permanent Part Time (CKPPT) Timmins

Reporting to the Nutrition Manager the Cook is responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals for residents guests and employees while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and therapeutic diet requirements.

• Prepare and serve meals in accordance with planned menus production sheets and standardized recipes
• Ensure meals are presented attractively and served on schedule
• Follow proper food handling sanitation and safety procedures
• Complete and document daily temperature checks for refrigerators freezers and storage areas
• Prepare foods for therapeutic and specialty diets as required
• Make and document menu substitutions as necessary
• Maintain adherence to production schedules and budget guidelines
• Comply with all regulatory requirements and departmental policies
• Participate in special events theme meals and menu planning activities
• Attend meetings training and in-service education sessions
• Support Resident Rights and contribute to a respectful environment
• Participate in Quality Improvement and health & safety programs
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Food Handlers Certificate (required)
• Red Seal Certification (preferred)
• Experience in large quantity food preparation preferably in healthcare or retirement settings
• Knowledge of therapeutic/specialty diets and food regulations
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy or hot items
• Second language considered an asset
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain)
