- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes quality standards and service requirements.
- Support daily meal service and special event catering activities.
- Maintain a clean organized and sanitary kitchen and workstation.
- Follow all food safety sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Assist with food preparation portion control and inventory management activities.
- Monitor ingredient quality and freshness escalating concerns when necessary.
- Source required ingredients and supplies including oil and potatoes to ensure operational readiness.
- Process cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Deliver meals promptly and efficiently during service periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support kitchen and cafeteria operations.
- Previous experience in a cooking food service or kitchen environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations standards and best practices.
- Completion of a recognized food safety course or willingness to obtain certification in accordance with New Brunswick requirements.
- Ability to work a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with occasional extended hours as required.
- Strong attendance record and commitment to reliability.
- Good mathematical skills and attention to detail for cash handling responsibilities.
- Demonstrated initiative accountability and a positive attitude.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Proven commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including standing walking bending and lifting up to 40 pounds.
Compensation Package:$ -$ Starting at 26.17 CAD hourly Bonus eligibility Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
