Job Description

Contract Coordinator is pivotal in managing contractual agreements overseeing contractadministration processes facilitating communication and collaboration among projectstakeholders and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. By effectivelymanaging contracts and related activities Contract Coordinator contributes to the successfulexecution and delivery of the project within established parameters and objectives.

  • Oversee and manage all contractual agreements between the project ownerstakeholders and various contractors involved in the project.
  • Identify assess and mitigate contractual risks including potential liabilities obligationsand exposures that may impact project outcomes.
  • Supervise and carry out the administration of contracts throughout the project lifecycleincluding monitoring contract performance tracking milestones and managingdeliverables.
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely execution of contractual obligations andadherence to project schedules.
  • Ensure that contracts are accurately drafted reviewed and executed in accordancewith project requirements and legal standards.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms legal requirements and regulatorystandards applicable to the construction industry.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of contracts including key terms expiration datesand renewal options.
  • Prepare review and issue formal correspondence including notices requests andresponses to stakeholders contractors and clients in compliance with contractrequirements ensuring clarity accuracy and alignment with project objectives andtimelines.
  • Process and manage change orders variations and amendments to existing contractsas necessary.
  • Review proposed changes assess their impact on project scope schedule and budgetand negotiate terms and conditions with relevant parties.
  • Handle contract-related claims disputes and conflicts that may arise during the projectlifecycle.
  • Work closely with legal counsel project managers and stakeholders to resolve disputesin a timely and amicable manner minimizing disruption to project progress.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contractual documentscorrespondence and communications related to the project.
  • Organize contract files amendments and other documentation in a structured mannerfor easy retrieval and reference.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractual matters liaising between project stakeholders contractors and legal advisors as needed.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among internal and externalstakeholders to ensure alignment on contract terms and project objectives.
  • Implement best practices standard operating procedures and tools to enhance
  • efficiency transparency and accountability in contract administration.
  • Support the Contracts Manager with any other daily commercial/contractual activitiesas needed.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • This role requires a strong sense of accountability exceptional attention to detail anda demonstrated commitment to advancing in commercial/contract departments withinthe construction industry.
  • Bachelors degree in engineering law or a related field.
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a commercial or administrative role within the constructionindustry with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Visio) andfamiliarity with project management or contract management software is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to draft review andoversee formal project correspondence effectively.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate in diverse cross-functional teams within a fast paced and deadline-driven environment.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks managing multiple assignments and maintaining attentionto detail under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify complex issues perform detailed analysis andrecommend and implement effective solutions.
  • Proactive self-managing solution-oriented highly organized and adaptable to evolvingproject needs.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles financial considerations and riskassessment methodologies

This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $90000$120000 CAD with compensation determined based on experience qualifications and internal equity.
