CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR
Landmark Solutions Ltd. (Landmark) is looking to add an experienced Estimator to our growing team with the opportunity for the individual to grow within our Construction and other sectors of the Landmark business. The Estimator will be instrumental in preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing drawings specifications proposals and other documentation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Estimator Is an integral part of the Landmark team and will work closely and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Estimator plays a key role in supporting project bids budgeting and pre-construction planning and will work closely and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position is based in Salmon Arm with the potential for some travel to view out of town projects. Duties and Skills include but are not limited to:
Specific Skills and Knowledge
- Review project plans specifications and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Solicit and analyze quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for materials labor and equipment.
- Develop and maintain estimating tools databases and historical cost data.
- Collaborate with project managers engineers and clients to develop and refine budgets.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives.
- Participate in bid reviews and prepare submission documents for tenders.
- Track and update estimates through project development phases.
- Assist in project risk analysis and contingency planning.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships
- Work well in a team environment
- Projects are located throughout western Canada and candidate must be willing to travel to project sites as required
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License with clean driving record and the confidence to drive safely in a variety of road conditions
- Other combinations of experience and education will be considered
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management Engineering or a related field.
- 3 years of estimating experience in the construction industry (civil industrial or commercial preferred).
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Bluebeam Maestro HeavyBid MS Excel).
- Strong understanding of construction methods materials and codes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines
Preference will be given to those candidates with the following:
- Gold Seal Certification or equivalent designation is an asset.
- Familiarity with contract types and procurement processes.
- Experience with scheduling software (e.g. MS Project or Primavera P6)
