Your Opportunity
One Temporary Full-time Position.
We are seeking a Compliance Assistant to join our Market & Trading Compliance team for a full-time up to 12-month term with a possibility of extension for a Maternity leave coverage. The Compliance Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Compliance and Government Relations teams and is essential for maintaining efficient operations supporting the fulfillment of regulatory requirements and facilitating effective budget management and communication across the organization.
You will contribute to our team by:
Provide comprehensive support to teams in budget planning and tracking ensuring accurate completion of budget documents with correct figures and timelines.
Conduct quarterly budget reviews with team leads to monitor progress identify discrepancies and implement necessary corrections.
Maintain and update lobby registries for the Canadian Government Relations team including AB BC ON and federal entries reflecting government funding amounts and relevant organizational changes.
Facilitate training initiatives by supporting blueprint and LRN programs; assign modify and remove training as required.
Process incoming invoices ensuring accurate coding and timely entry.
Support tracking of various KPI metrics.
Prepare purchase requisitions as needed and advise teams on procurement requirements.
Oversee Policy Matrix maintenance updating policies and standards revising document information and coordinating communications for policy updates.
Code of Conduct training assignment tracking and reporting.
Support directors and VPs with business travel arrangements including flight hotel and rental car bookings.
Coordinate on-site training sessions at plant locations.
Provide expense management support by tracking missing folios updating coding and resolving minor issues.
Deliver calendar management assistance by scheduling meetings rescheduling events and coordinating with external stakeholders.
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
Post-Secondary diploma in business Commerce Finance Economics Energy Management Law Public Policy or Regulatory Studies.
Education equivalency may be considered.
Experience:
35 years of experience in supporting multi-disciplinary teams.
Budget administration and Event planning.
Exposure to energy markets is considered an asset.
Technical Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to build positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on MS Excel.
Experience with Oracle and proficiency in learning new software and processes.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office Tuesday Thursday.
An anticipated start date of late August is preferred.
Additional Details:
Wage Range: $33.91 to $40.45 per hour
Hours of Work: 8 hours per day 40 hours per week
Union: CSU52
