Commissary Cook!

Kids & Company is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Head Chef you will play an integral role in the day-to-day operation of our kitchen preparing healthy meals and snacks for children attending our daycare centres. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment is passionate about food safety and quality and enjoys the unique benefit of an early morning schedule (4:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.) leaving your afternoons free.

• Prepare cook and bake all meals and snacks along with Executive Chef for delivery to daycare centres on a daily basis.
• Ensure food is stored handled and disposed of safely in accordance with food safety regulations.
• Maintain daily temperature logs for food refrigerators and freezers.
• Prepare specialized meals and snacks for children with allergies dietary restrictions and vegetarian requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children with allergies and special dietary needs.
• Ensure compliance with all health safety sanitation and food handling regulations.
• Oversee kitchen operations including dishwashing cleaning and sanitizing of equipment workstations counters and storage areas.
• Help prepare food for field trips school-age programs and community events.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the needs of the business.

• Available to work Monday to Friday 4:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m.
• Current Food Handler Certification.
• Minimum 24 years of Lead cook experience.
• Experience working in a daycare school healthcare or high-volume food service environment is considered an asset.
• Valid drivers licence with a clean drivers abstract.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Successful completion of a criminal record check.
• Ability to lift carry push and pull up to 45 lbs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and food safety.
