What is the Opportunity
The Student Estimator will have the opportunity to support the civil east team in their process of offering proposals and working with the estimating team.
This is an 8 month co-op opportunity.
WhatYoullDo Here:
  • Being mentored by Senior and Chief Estimators in bidding projects including construction approach
  • Pursuing various projects including a combination of private client proposals design-build and bid-build projects ranging from roads bridges elevated guideways airportshydro powerdamsand many other heavy civil projects
  • Working with the estimating team on proposal preparation including:
    • Quantity takeoff and updating estimate software with quantities
    • Database analysis
    • Subcontractor/Vendor solicitation
    • Subcontractor/Vendor Quote comparisons & analysis
    • Entering quotes into estimate software
    • Assistingwith project execution
    • Assistingin design build process and working with design teams
    • Preparing portions of estimatesutilizingHard Dollar Estimating software
    • Preparing portions of schedulesutilizingPrimavera P6 software
    • Preparation of handover documents to site team for successful bids
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Currently enrolled in a university or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • A valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
  • Proven ability to work under pressure prioritizetasksand meet deadlines for normal functions and special assignments.
  • Attention to detail mathematical analyticalskillsand accuracy.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Service orientation and ability to work effectively with a team environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft WordExceland Outlook. Database and P6 knowledge an asset.

The expected pay range for this role is $23 - $28 per hour
Individual pay isdeterminedbased on several factors including work location education experience uniqueskillsand job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications specialized training and the complexity or scope of the role.
