Clinical Counsellor Foundry

ABOUT THE JOB:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Counsellor to join the interdisciplinary team at Foundry Kamloops.

Foundry provides integrated health and wellness services for young people aged 1224 bringing together mental health care substance use and harm reduction services primary care peer support and social services in one welcoming location.

As a Clinical Counsellor you will provide therapeutic mental health counselling to youth and young adults experiencing a range of mental health emotional relational and life challenges. Working as part of the interdisciplinary Foundry team you will collaborate with youth families caregivers and community partners to provide coordinated evidence-informed care that promotes resilience healing and wellbeing.

• Deliver therapeutic mental health counselling using evidence-informed and developmentally aware approaches.
• Conduct assessments to identify presenting concerns strengths and support needs.
• Collaborate with youth to develop individualized treatment goals and plans.
• Facilitate individual and group counselling focused on emotional regulation coping skills problem-solving and wellbeing.
• Provide crisis intervention de-escalation risk assessment and safety planning as required.
• Collaborate with families caregivers community partners and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Connect youth with appropriate community health education housing and social supports.
• Maintain accurate timely and confidential clinical documentation assessments and case records.
• Participate in case conferences shared care planning reflective supervision and ongoing professional development.
• Promote a welcoming culturally safe trauma-informed and youth-centered service environment.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Compensation range: $44.54$54.52 per hour
  Additional wage increases are anticipated in the coming months and are not reflected in the salary range above.

• Annual vacation starting at three (3) weeks after one year increasing with seniority.

• Wage increases with every 2000 hours of seniority up to Step 4.

• Interior Community Services is a Municipal Pension Plan (MPP) employer. Part-time employees entitlement to MPP is determined based on the length of service and accrued wages. If the candidate is already a contributing member then enrollment is on hire.

EDUCATION TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

• Masters degree in Counselling Psychology Clinical Psychology or Social Work
• Registered with or eligibility for registration with one of the following regulatory bodies:
• • Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors or
  • Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the BC College of Social Workers
• Minimum 2 years of counselling experience including at least 1 year supporting youth and young adults.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES:

• Strong clinical assessment counselling and therapeutic intervention skills.
• Ability to establish trust and therapeutic rapport with youth and young adults.
• Knowledge of evidence-informed counselling approaches including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Solution-Focused Therapy Motivational Interviewing Narrative Therapy and other appropriate therapeutic modalities.
• Applied knowledge of integrated care youth development harm reduction trauma-informed culturally safe and inclusive practice.
• Strong crisis intervention risk assessment de-escalation and safety planning skills.
• Ability to engage families caregivers and natural supports in the therapeutic process when appropriate.
• Excellent communication collaboration and relationship-building skills within interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational documentation report writing and time management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.
• Ability to maintain professionalism confidentiality ethical standards and appropriate professional boundaries.

REQUIREMENTS

• Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Willingness to complete required organizational training provided at no cost including Emergency First Aid with CPR-C Mandt (RCT) SafeTALK Privacy and Information Sharing Abuse and Neglect Awareness Anti-Bullying and Harassment and Foundry-specific training. Existing certifications are considered an asset.
• Ability to maintain registration and professional liability insurance where required by the applicable regulatory body.
• Union membership required (1.85% dues)

PROGRAM: Foundry Kamloops

LOCATION: Kamloops BC

STATUS: Part-time

HOURS of WORK: 20 hours per week

SCHEDULE: Scheduled within the programs regular operating hours ofMonday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.The successful candidates schedule will be established based on operational needs. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required to meet youth and program needs.

REPORTS TO: Clinical Coordinator

COMPENSATION: $47.26$57.84 per hour (Grid 16 Paraprofessional wage grid as per collective agreement)
