Class 1 Linehaul Shunt Driver

Midland Transport is currently seeking a professional Class 1 Linehaul Shunt Driver based out of Moncton Terminal NB.
The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic and great and positive attitude with a commitment to provide a Superior Quality Service.

Main Role:
The driver will be responsible for the safe accurate and timely movement of equipment and freight. Responsibilities include a combination of regional driving throughout the Maritimes and shunting operations at the Tissue Plant Master Packaging and Midland yards based on operational needs. This role requires strong time management skills and a strong commitment to safety.

Shift Options:

4 days on 4 days off 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
4 days on 4 days off 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Operate a tractor trailer safely and efficiently while performing regional runs throughout the Maritimes and shunting operations between the Tissue Plant Master Packaging and Midland yards.
Move equipment and freight in a safe accurate and timely manner while meeting operational requirements.
Complete all required pre-trip en route and post-trip inspections in accordance with legal and company requirements.
Refuel refrigerated units as required.
Maintain company equipment in accordance with established standards.
Communicate effectively with the Supervisor and dispatch team.
Report any incidents accidents injuries or equipment damage immediately.
Follow all company policies procedures and safety standards.

Education Required: High School or GED.
Class 1 drivers license with a minimum of 3 years safe tractor driving experience required.
Clean drivers abstract and criminal search.
Good communication skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to lift to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
Excellent work ethic and reliability.
Safety conscious.
