Job Summary

OVERVIEW



Reporting to Director Design and Implementation the Process Engineer is responsible for defining solution design through a process engineering lens translating business needs into practical scalable and technology-enabled process solutions. This role partners with product business IT and delivery stakeholders to understand current-state workflows define desired outcomes identify inefficiencies and risks and design future-state processes controls data flows integrations and operating models. The Process Engineer combines process engineering methods solution design practices data-driven analysis automation thinking and strong facilitation skills to shape solutions that improve productivity quality compliance user experience operational resilience and measurable business value. Experience using Lucid for process mapping workflow modelling solution visualization collaboration and documentation is required.


This is a salaried position and requires residency in Canada.


RESPONSIBILITIES



Strategy & Planning

  • Map current-state information system processes workflows handoffs data flows roles controls system touchpoints and pain points using Lucid and other approved modelling standards.
  • Partner with business leaders process owners IT teams architects vendors and end users to define business outcomes process requirements solution requirements constraints dependencies and success measures.
  • Analyze the effectiveness efficiency scalability compliance risk profile data quality system alignment and user experience of existing business processes and supporting solutions.
  • Design future-state processes solution concepts operating models decision flows exception paths controls automation opportunities and technology enablement patterns that improve operational performance.
  • Develop solution options process recommendations business cases implementation approaches impact assessments and decision-ready documentation for leadership and delivery teams.
  • Perform cost-benefit return on investment risk capacity feasibility and operational readiness analyses for proposed process and solution changes.
  • Define scope assumptions dependencies measures baselines acceptance criteria target outcomes and traceability from business need through process design and solution delivery.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Collaborate in the solution design planning configuration testing deployment and adoption of improved processes supporting applications integrations automations and workflow enhancements.
  • Research process improvement methods solution design practices workflow technologies automation tools collaboration platforms and business applications to support recommendations and implementation planning.

Operational Management

  • Develop standardize document and maintain improved information system processes solution designs operating procedures process controls and workflow documentation based on analysis design decisions and implementation outcomes.
  • Communicate process and solution changes impacts risks adoption requirements and expected benefits to leaders peers delivery teams support teams and affected users.
  • Create clear process models swim lane diagrams workflow maps solution views value-stream views requirements test scenarios and implementation documentation using Lucid and related tools.
  • Estimate effort timelines resource needs risks dependencies technical considerations and operational impacts for process changes and solution design initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops with cross-functional stakeholders to validate current-state findings co-design future-state processes and solution concepts resolve gaps and support implementation readiness.
  • Coordinate and support testing user validation pilot activities training change adoption post-implementation review and benefits tracking for new or improved processes and solutions.
  • Provide solution design and process engineering guidance coaching and knowledge sharing to junior staff members and cross-functional partners.



QUALIFICATIONS


Education

  • University degree or equivalent experience in business administration business technology information systems industrial engineering operations management computer science management information systems or a related discipline plus relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in business process engineering or related roles

Knowledge & Skills

  • Required hands-on experience using Lucid or approved modelling tools to create process maps swim lane diagrams workflow models decision flows solution views and collaborative process documentation.
  • Proven experience with business process engineering solution design process modelling process mapping requirements analysis workflow design and continuous improvement methods.
  • Demonstrated project delivery facilitation stakeholder management workshop leadership communication design thinking and change adoption skills.
  • Experience assessing current-state processes and supporting systems identifying bottlenecks waste control gaps data issues integration needs and user-experience pain points and translating findings into practical solution recommendations.
  • Experience designing and implementing future-state processes solution concepts standard operating procedures process controls automation opportunities and measurable performance improvements.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma BPM value-stream mapping root cause analysis service design performance measurement and change management practices.
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear process requirements solution requirements user stories acceptance criteria test scenarios implementation plans and operational documentation.
  • Practical experience with data analysis reporting spreadsheets dashboards metrics baselines and benefits tracking to evaluate process and solution performance.
  • Familiarity with business applications workflow tools collaboration platforms service management systems automation platforms integration concepts and enterprise productivity tools.
  • Understanding of system touchpoints data flows integration considerations cybersecurity privacy compliance operational risk and supportability as they relate to business process solution design.
  • Strong understanding of the organizations goals objectives operating model solution landscape and technology-enabled business environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • All CM employees work 40 hours per week remotely from a home office environment.
  • On-site work in the Toronto office will be required on a case-by-case basis.


PAY TRANSPARENCY

ExpectedCompensation:

  • An annual base salary in the range of $90000 to $110000
  • The salary range listed complies with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and reflects a potential base salary range for this actual salary offered will be determined within the range and will depend on factors such as the candidates unique qualifications relevant experience work location and expected contributions.
