Position Overview

Youre a strategic mastermind who can balance the needs of stakeholders such as customers municipalities and regulators with one hand tied behind your back. Thats because you know how to tailor customer-centric programs and can build effective collaborative relationships that feed into evergreen programs.

This may be the perfect opportunity for you as our Conservation and Energy Management department is looking to hire a Program Manager. You will be part of the multi-talented backbone of Conservation and Energy Management that oversees the long-term strategic direction and day-to-day operations of our team.

We need you to take a proactive approach in streamlining processes and engaging stakeholders to ensure our programs continue to push the needle on sustainable energy practices. Help us rethink our energy future.

In this role you will:

  • Lead strategy design and continuous improvement of Residential New Home Retail and Appliance programs ensuring customer-focused market-relevant offerings aligned with DSM objectives.
  • Oversee end-to-end program operations collaborating with others to drive efficient delivery and continuous process optimization.
  • Design and evolve DSM incentives eligibility frameworks and delivery models to enhance participation cost-effectiveness and customer experience.
  • Provide well-articulated information for external engagement regulatory proceedings and internal reporting; delivering accurate evidence-based input on program design and performance.
  • Manage program budgets to ensure strong financial oversight alignment with objectives and optimized spending for maximum impact.
  • Hire train and create positive working relationships with program support teams.
  • Develop competitive bidding contracts legal contracts and terms and conditions in conjunction with procurement and legal departments.
  • Lead and manage internal staff and third-party delivery partners driving accountability performance and strong stakeholder relationships to ensure effective program execution.
  • Set practical and obtainable goals for program and department development plans.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with internal teams such as Energy Solutions Climate Action Partners and Community Relations and key external interest groups including local governments Indigenous communities educational organizations and more.
  • Adjudicate technically complex and escalated New Home applications providing timely well-reasoned decisions on eligibility and exceptions.

What it takes:

  • Bachelors degree in business engineering or related discipline from a recognized program plus a minimum of five (5) years of recent related experience with demonstrated success.
  • A proven track record of building relationships in complex work environments.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skillset.
  • Ability to work and learn independently in a fast-paced environment with complex processes.
  • A get it done right and can do perspective that fosters strengthened relationships through every engagement.
  • Previous experience with delivering and communicating Demand Side Management programs and working in a regulated utility is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with residential new home construction energy management/efficiency is considered an asset
  • Valid BC drivers license.

In this role you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week) subject to business or operational needs.
