Job Title: CAT-VAC Operator

Job Summary:

This position is based on a worksite and involves the safe and efficient operation of CAT Vac equipment. Successful candidates must be mechanically inclined physically fit and capable of working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Preference will be given to individuals with prior industrial experience particularly those with experience operating wiggle wagons.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate CAT Vac equipment in accordance with company and site procedures.
  
• Be physically capable of performing required duties and working in a variety of weather conditions.
  
• Accurately complete all required daily documentation including logbooks customer work orders field-level risk assessments (FLRAs) and pre- and post-trip inspections.
  
• Carry out assigned tasks as directed by Dispatch and/or Supervisors.
  
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of assigned equipment through daily housekeeping and routine care.
  
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety meetings and comply with all company client and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
  
• Operate and maintain all BME tools and equipment in accordance with established standards and operating procedures.
  
• Ensure all required certifications training and qualifications remain current and valid.
  
• Adhere to all applicable Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and WHMIS regulations.
  
• Identify and support opportunities for continuous improvement in safety efficiency and service delivery.
  
• Deliver professional customer-focused service in all interactions and job-related activities
  

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum valid Class 5 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
  
• Previous CAT Vac Wiggle wagon experience.
  
• Previous or related experience operating at least three of these types of units: Water Vacuum Hydro or Combo Vac units considered an asset.
  
• Mine drive experience
  
• Eligible to work at Syncrude Site.
  
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  
• OSSA (or BSO/CSO) and CSTS certification.
