Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Enrollment Advisor serves as a primary point of contact for prospective and newly admitted students throughout the enrollment journey. This role builds relationships with prospective students provides personalized admissions and program guidance supports applicants through the application and admission process and helps ensure a smooth transition into their first courses at CityU.

The Enrollment Advisor works collaboratively with colleagues across Enrollment Student Success Marketing Academic Affairs and other university departments to provide a welcoming responsive and student-centered experience. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a diverse student population managing multiple priorities and guiding students through complex information and processes with clarity and care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Student Recruitment & Engagement

  • Builds relationships with prospective students through timely and personalized outreach by phone email virtual meetings and in-person interactions.
  • Responds to inquiries and provides accurate information about CityU programs admission requirements tuition financing options and the enrollment process.
  • Meets with prospective students to understand their educational goals and provide appropriate program and admissions guidance.
  • Conducts timely follow-up with prospective students and maintains accurate records of interactions and enrollment activity in university systems.
  • Participates in information sessions recruitment activities community events and other outreach initiatives.
  • Develops referral and community relationships that support student recruitment and enrollment.

Admissions & Enrollment

  • Guides prospective students through the application process including required documentation deadlines and next steps.
  • Reviews application materials for completeness and prepares application files for academic review.
  • Participates in program-specific admissions interviews and processes as assigned.
  • Communicates admission decisions and enrollment requirements clearly and professionally.
  • Helps admitted students complete required steps toward enrollment and initial course registration.
  • Identifies enrollment barriers and works with students and appropriate university departments to resolve issues.

Student Support & University Engagement

  • Supports newly admitted students as they transition from admission to enrollment and their first courses at CityU.
  • Maintains accurate student records and serves as a liaison between students and appropriate university departments.
  • Advocates for a positive student experience while following university policies and procedures.
  • Represents CityU at community events information sessions and other university activities as assigned.
  • Maintains current knowledge of CityUs academic programs admissions policies enrollment processes and student financing options.
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable privacy legislation including provincial and federal requirements and university policies governing student records and confidentiality.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least two years of experience in admissions enrollment student advising recruitment customer service higher education or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain complex information clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural racial ethnic socioeconomic and professional backgrounds.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience working with CRM database or student information systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
  • Experience with admissions enrollment advising student recruitment or student services.
  • Experience working with adult learners graduate students or diverse student populations.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or another student information system.
  • Familiarity with Canadian post-secondary admissions processes and privacy requirements.
  • Experience with community outreach or professional relationship development.
