Job Summary

SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group an international consulting and engineering group a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure privatization of a railway.

Context

As a Buyer you will ensure the timely and efficient procurement of raw materials components and supplies required for production. You will contribute to cost quality and delivery objectives while building strong supplier relationships and supporting the continuous improvement of procurement practices.

Missions/Main Duties
  • Plan prepare and issue purchase orders for raw materials and components according to the production schedule.
  • Identify evaluate and select suppliers in accordance with SYSTRA criteria.
  • Negotiate pricing payment terms and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor orders and resolve issues or non-conformities related to lead times logistics and quality.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (production quality finance etc.) to anticipate needs.
  • Analyze market trends and supply chain risks and propose mitigation plans.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of purchasing processes and KPI management; maintain data integrity in the ERP.
  • Support cost-reduction initiatives (total cost of ownership spend consolidation inventory optimization).
    Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Profile/Skills

Education:Diploma of vocational studies (or equivalent) in a relevant field.

Years of experience:5 to 7 years of in a similar procurement/purchasing role.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems (SAP SPOT) and Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of supply chain management principles.

Personal and soft skills:

  • Strong attention to detail in identifying and ordering parts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills both in French and in English*
