The Role

Were looking for a Business Systems Analyst / Data Engineer to combine strong business analysis expertise with hands-on data engineering this role youll work with stakeholders to understand business and data requirements while designing and delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions using modern Azure data technologies.

Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle helping transform complex business requirements into scalable high-quality data solutions that drive informed decision-making.

What Youll Do

• Partner with business stakeholders to gather analyse and document business functional and data requirements for enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
• Design develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines that ingest transform and integrate data from multiple source systems within Azure-based environments.
• Perform data profiling validation reconciliation and quality assurance activities to ensure data accuracy integrity and consistency.
• Produce source-to-target mappings data models technical specifications and support system integration testing user acceptance testing and production deployments.
• Collaborate within Agile delivery teams working closely with solution architects developers and QA professionals while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What Were Looking For

• Proven experience (5 years) as a Business Systems Analyst Data Engineer or in a hybrid BSA/Data Engineering role with strong business and technical analysis skills.
• Advanced SQL expertise with hands-on experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines data modelling and data warehousing solutions.
• Strong programming experience using Python and PySpark with practical knowledge of Azure-based data platforms.
• Excellent analytical communication stakeholder management and problem-solving skills with experience working in Agile environments.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable reliable data solutions.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse Analytics Azure Databricks Azure SQL Database/SQL Server Power BI Azure DevOps Git Jira and Confluence.
• Experience delivering enterprise reporting and analytics solutions within large complex organisations.
• Knowledge of cloud-native data architectures and modern data engineering best practices.
• Experience working across cross-functional business and technology teams.
• Financial services industry consulting experience.
