The Opportunity
CQCC is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow Rainbow Registered across Western Canada. Rainbow Registered is a national accreditation program that helps businesses and organizations across Canada create more welcoming and inclusive experiences for 2SLGBTQI customers employees and communities with a strong presence in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
Reporting to the Corporate Business Development Manager Rainbow Registered this role combines business development with regional engagement. The successful candidate will build a strong prospect pipeline convert interest into program participation and develop relationships that expand CQCCs reach across Western and Northern Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional business development and engagement plan that supports Rainbow Registered participation revenue renewal and growth targets.
- Identify prospect and engage tourism and hospitality businesses industry associations destination organizations municipalities chambers and other potential partners.
- Manage prospects from initial outreach through information sharing relationship development and enrollment providing a responsive and inclusive client experience.
- Deliver presentations information sessions and meetings that explain Rainbow Registered its assessment and accreditation process and its value to participating organizations.
- Build referral pathways and trusted relationships with regional ecosystem partners community organizations and 2SLGBTQI Invested Partners.
- Collaborate with Rainbow Registered program staff regional Engagement Managers Marketing and Communications and other CQCC teams to coordinate outreach campaigns events and participant support.
- Maintain accurate CRM records track pipeline activity and conversions prepare forecasts and reports and use results to strengthen regional strategy.
- Represent CQCC at regional events and identify opportunities to connect businesses with other relevant CQCC programs resources and membership benefits.
Education & Experience
- Post-secondary education in business tourism marketing communications community development or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years of experience in business development sales account management stakeholder engagement partnership development or a related role.
- Demonstrated success developing a pipeline and achieving revenue participation membership sponsorship or partnership targets.
- Strong relationship-building presentation negotiation follow-up and client-service skills.
- Experience working across a large geographic territory and managing a geographically dispersed portfolio is an asset.
- Experience with CRM systems and digital collaboration tools; HubSpot Dynamics Stripe or Microsoft 365 experience is an asset.
- Experience in tourism hospitality chambers not-for-profit organizations or work supporting 2SLGBTQI and equity-deserving communities is considered an asset.
- French is also an asset.
Terms
This is a full-time remote position serving Eastern Canada including Ontario Quebec and Atlantic Canada. The role requires regular regional travel and occasional travel elsewhere in Canada. Some evening or weekend work may be required for events.
Compensation
Salary will be based on skills and experience within the annual salary range of $70000-$75000. Additional benefits include group benefit plan coverage annual vacation and a generous public holiday schedule including paid time off between Christmas Day and New Years Day.
