Business Analyst, Payroll
Job Summary
Our Payroll Office is looking for a Business Analyst Payroll who will be responsiblefor supporting payroll operations by troubleshooting system and data issues responding to employee inquiries and maintaining accurate documentation of payroll processes and system changes. Supports KPI tracking and reporting to ensure service level commitments are met and serves as backup for payroll system testing validation and user support during upgrades enhancements and process changes.
- Provide technical support for the auditing and updating of absence balances within the Oracle HCM system
- Test all new functionality and incidents by developing test scenarios validating results and preparing enduser documentation for new or updated features including administrative changes affecting Payroll Supervisor and Administrator roles within HCM.
- Provide key support for all OMERS year-end activities including pension adjustment calculations and credited service determination.
- Lead the year-end activities for Self-employed T4A and Employee Declarations as well as all absence-related payouts. Provide support for absence validation for year-over-year analysis.
- Identifies and facilitates the development of documentation for new and modified business policies and procedures (e.g. standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows) to ensure the effective implementation of technology solutions.
- Propose improvements to automate business functions and make effective use of technology to improve customer service experience.
- Lead all Oracle HCM system updates for personal banking transit additions and update employees records based on anomalies identified during reconciliation.
- Works with the Senior Manager for payroll analytics to identify new sources of data and methods for continuous improvements and specialize in report validation.
Develop Absence Management & Payroll procedures user manual and training for Payroll users and internal clients.
Completion of a post-secondary degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering Business Process Improvement or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated years experience as a Business Analyst preferably in the transport or construction industry and / or the public sector
- National Payroll Institute (NPI) designation required would be an asset
Experience with time entry controls validation and fraud deduction is an asset.
Working Knowledge of HCM Real Time Subject areas and OTBI from a reporting standpoint.
Proven Project delivery through full lifecycle from requirements through deployment and Support.
Experience with computerized quantitative and analytical tools (e.g. data modeling workflows and business process analysis) and with MS Office (Outlook Word Excel Visio PowerPoint Project etc.)
- Interpersonal oral/written/presentation communication skills to document and present business needs specifications reports project documents and implementation plans.
