Automations Engineer

At NS/TX our mission is to accelerate the transition to a sustainable food system. Using our proprietary and purpose-built production technologies we are creating the next generation of meat and seafood alternatives which are designed to appeal to the average consumer. Our first commercial product is a delicious plant-based salmon filet that looks cooks tastes and flakes like the real thing. Its full of Omega 3 and protein all with a lower carbon footprint zero mercury and made without harming the ocean.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Lead process automation and improvement
• Design end-to-end automation systems independently from a list of systems requirements
• Ongoing troubleshooting and debugging of systems
• Source materials and tools required for projects
• Collaborate with mechanical and data engineers on projects and initiatives
• Ensure all projects are delivered on time and in budget

WHAT YOU BRING

• 1-5 years of hands-on practical experience ideally in the food industry
• Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Mechatronics Engineering Electrical Engineering Computer Science or similar
• Hands on experience with major programming languages such as C C and Python
• Hands on experience working with microcontrollers such as Raspberry Pis Arduinos or ESP32s
• Familiarity with electrical schematics circuit design and debugging electrical systems (i.e. you know how to use a multimeter to find and resolve issues)
• Excellent at multi-tasking and managing concurrent projects
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing/fabrication techniques
• Nice to have: foundational understanding of process control algorithms (i.e. PID loops) and how to implement them
• Nice to have: hands on experience working with PLCs and ladder logic
• Nice to have: hands on experience working with industrial networking (i.e. Fieldbus)
