PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
As an Analyst Financial Planning you will play a key role in driving financial performance across a dynamic Operations portfolio. Working closely with operational leaders and finance partners you will lead forecasting and budgeting activities that directly influence business decisions and strategic outcomes. Leveraging your analytical expertise you will deliver actionable insights identify trends and opportunities and help shape the financial direction of the organization. This is an opportunity to be a trusted advisor to leadership own critical planning processes and make a measurable impact on operational success through data-driven decision making.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Translate operational changes into a financial forecast with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Proactively look for improvements in the forecasting process; identifying key drivers while gaining a thorough understanding of the business model
- Provide support to Operations by developing a comprehensive detailed annual budget for all cost centers working closely with operational leaders to develop and incorporate initiatives
- Responsible for continually improving reporting and analysis for key stakeholders using all available systems to further automate key reports and providing insightful analyses
- Assist in ad hoc requests from the operational leaders providing support in an accurate and timely manner
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Commerce Accounting Finance Economics Mathematics or other relevant fields
- Minimum 2 years experience in a financerelated role preferably with an operational or planning focus.
- Experience in Business Consolidation and Planning (BPC) is desirable
- MS Excel Modelling Skills
- Continuous process improvement inquiring mindset and strong attention to detail

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
