The Opportunity:

Role Summary:
The Driver Coordinatoris the main point of contact between the backbone of the transportation industry (our AZ Drivers) and the organization. This role is responsible for effectively coordinating a group of drivers to success through continual communication from the shipment pick-up to delivery and ensuring the appropriate internal departments (i.e. Customer Service Breakdown Customs) are aware of any updates.

Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 12:00pm

Salary: $45000 $1500 annual shift premium


Work Location & Environment:
300 Maple Grove Rd Cambridge ON; office environment

Key Accountabilities:
In this role you will:
  • Planning trucks effectively to reduce empty miles; managing the empty miles ratios
  • Dispatches trucks on planned loads; tracks dispatched trucks on a daily basis to ensure on-time performance
  • Works with Driver Coordinators to achieve driver needs and goals
  • Implement efficient equipment utilization
  • Monitors and maintains customer trailer pools
  • Responds to and resolving driver inquiries in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Assists Customer Service Department with any customer inquiries regarding the shipment.
  • Ensures the dispatch plan is executed effectively and collaborates with our Planners on redesign.
  • Participates in driver retention initiatives including data collection root cause analysis and mediation.
  • Ensures integrity of data in our system including ETAs driver availability projected late shipments etc.
  • Performs other duties as required
Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a dispatching role is ideal.
  • Experience in the transportation industry is an asset.

  • Able to evaluate information determine practical solutions and take initiative.
  • Self-motivated well-organized and able to manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Positive enthusiastic and naturally curious with an appreciation for continuous learning and growth.
