Activity Leader III

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is now accepting applications from prospective candidates to join our organization as an Activity Leader III at the Cowichan Community Centre within the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Manager Cowichan Community Centre and directly supervised by the Shift Supervisor the Activity Leader III will be involved in a variety of recreation work relating to the operation of public skating sessions programs and special events. Work includes acting in charge of a specific area within the facility.

• Secondary school graduation or the equivalent combination of education/training and experience.
• Experience as an Activity Leader 1 and/or experience in recreation programmes and leadership skills in recreation programming
• WHMIS Certificate provided by employer
• Basic First Aid Certificate

Casual hours of work are scheduled based on operational need and successful candidates will be required to work a flexible variety of shifts including days & evenings on weekdays & weekends. As this is a casual opportunity there are no guaranteed hours of work.

This casual opportunity is unionized (CUPE Local 358) with a wage rate in three steps $18.59 - $19.94 - $20.94 per hour (2025 rates).
