Job Summary

This position is a three-year term appointment commencing in July 2026 and ending on June 30 2029.
Location - This role is in-person at North Campus Edmonton.
Position Summary
The Department of Computing Science invites applications for a full-time Academic Teaching Staff (ATS) member. Currently the list of courses the ATS member may be required to teach (all or part of) includes:
CMPUT 191 - Introduction to Data Science
CMPUT 195 - Introduction to Principles and Techniques of Data Science
CMPUT 200 - Responsible Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
CMPUT 291 - Introduction to File and Database Management
CMPUT 393 - Scalable Data-Intensive Analytics
INT D 491 - Data Science Capstone

Responsibilities
The ATS member has duties to support teaching more broadly which may include course and program design and development the integration of generative artificial intelligence within courses and the support of instructors in alternative forms of delivery (e.g. online asynchronous courses).
Qualifications
The appointment requires a Ph.D. degree in a closely related discipline to computing science software engineering or data science.
Successful teaching experience especially in the context of team-based capstone-project courses that apply data science and use modern cloud technologies is an asset.
