Responsibilities:Provide consultation to licensed child care programs in order to enhance their ability to integrate children with special needs into their programsEstablish supportive and professional relationships with early learning staff of your assigned child care agenciesDevelop and implement training to early learning staff and providers on topics related to special needsProcess all enhanced provider rate requests child care support funding applicationsProvide support to individual children within child care settings through observation assessment programming and referralEnsure necessary service coordination for familiesDiscuss childrens progress/behaviour/health with parents/designated familyWork collaboratively with other agency partnersProvide the consistent support needed so that every child can take part in the child care program of his or her families choice. Participate with community based and inter-agency organizations to identify gaps in service to enhance and coordinate service delivery to promote the healthy development of children and their familiesWork with representatives from the community MCSS the City of Toronto Childrens Services and other groups or individuals regarding children and their familiesMaintain administrative requirements in accordance with agency policiesParticipate in supervision staff and agency meetingsPerform other duties as requiredQualifications and Requirements: Resource Teacher CertificateE.C.E. Diploma/Degree or equivalentMust be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood EducatorsMinimum of 5 years experience in licensed child care (including home child care)Experience and knowledge of adult education and training within a multicultural environmentAbility to provide consultation services to various professionals in the communityWell-developed skills in areas such as leadership communication organization assessment confidentiality commitment and accountability initiative and work independently Work collaboratively as a team member within the agency and broader communitySocial and multicultural sensitivity Car required together with current license and vehicle liability insuranceMedical required including TB (two stages) 6 months current to hiring datePolice Vulnerable Sector Check 6 months current to hiring dateValid Standard First Aid and CPR level C Diversity and Inclusion:Family Day fosters a positive inclusive workplace culture with a workforce that is representative of the families and communities it serves.
