Overview
Our client in the transport and logistics industry is looking for an experienced and hands-on Airfreight Manager to oversee and drive efficient airfreight operations. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end shipment processes ensuring operational excellence and maintaining compliance with international trade regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating multi-modal freight activities supporting customer requirements and delivering high-quality logistics solutions

The Airfreight Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily airfreight operations while supporting the efficient movement of goods across customer supply chains. The role requires strong operational experience across airfreight ocean freight and customs processes with a focus on service delivery shipment visibility compliance and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams carriers customs authorities and customers to ensure seamless execution of shipments in line with company standards and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on operational role suited to a seasoned logistics professional with strong multi-product freight forwarding experience.

• Manage daily airfreight import and export operations to ensure timely and cost-effective shipment execution

• Coordinate end-to-end shipment processes including booking documentation tracking customs clearance and final delivery

• Support operational activities across ocean freight and customs clearance where required

• Ensure operational KPIs service levels and customer expectations are consistently achieved

• Monitor shipment performance and proactively resolve operational challenges or delays

• Liaise with airlines transporters clearing agents and other service providers to ensure smooth execution

• Identify consolidation opportunities optimize routing and support cost control initiatives

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping and customs documentation

• Maintain compliance with internal procedures customs regulations and international trade requirements

• Oversee customs clearance processes in line with local and international regulations

• Ensure compliance with tariff classifications import/export procedures and documentation standards

• Work closely with customs authorities and internal compliance teams to resolve clearance issues

• Support implementation and adherence to Customs & Trade Compliance standards

• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers providing regular shipment updates and operational support

• Support commercial teams with operational input on pricing transit solutions and customer requirements

• Assist with RFQs proposals and service solution development

• Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and operational efficiency

• Supervise and support operational staff to ensure efficient workflow and high service delivery standards

• Promote best practices and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure adherence to operational policies procedures and compliance standards

• Support training and development of team members

• Collaborate with internal departments including sales finance transport customs and customer service teams

• Build strong relationships with airlines carriers customs authorities and external partners

• Communicate effectively with customers regarding shipment status challenges and solutions

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Logistics Supply Chain Business Administration or a related field

Experience & Requirements

• 3 5 years experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations

• Strong airfreight operational experience is essential

• Working knowledge of ocean freight operations

• Experience with customs clearance and brokerage processes

• Proven ability to manage end-to-end shipment execution and customer relationships

• Team leadership and people management capability

• Strong commercial awareness and customer-facing confidence

• Good understanding of freight forwarding market dynamics

• Experience with international logistics systems and processes is advantageous

• Excellent problem-solving coordination and communication skills

• Fluent in both French and English
