About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to support the continued development and strengthening of cybersecurity governance risk management and compliance capabilities within a large and complex enterprise environment.
In this strategic role you will act as a trusted advisor to both business and IT stakeholders helping to define implement and mature information security frameworks governance processes and compliance initiatives. You will drive security improvement programs perform maturity assessments and help ensure alignment with industry standards regulatory requirements and cybersecurity best practices.
This position is ideal for a seasoned cybersecurity professional with strong governance expertise leadership capabilities and a proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide security initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and enhance information security governance risk management and compliance programs.
Develop implement and maintain Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
Conduct cybersecurity maturity assessments and define strategic improvement roadmaps.
Support and guide NIS2 compliance initiatives and regulatory alignment activities.
Analyze optimize and document security processes policies and governance frameworks.
Advise business and technology teams on information security best practices and risk mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to strengthen security culture and awareness.
Monitor emerging threats risks and regulatory developments.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of cybersecurity capabilities and operational resilience.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
Minimum 5 years of experience as a CISO Information Security Manager or equivalent leadership role.
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Security Consultant across one or more of the following domains:
Infrastructure Security
Application Security
Data Security
Enterprise Security Architecture
Proven experience within the public sector.
Extensive experience establishing and improving:
Security Governance
Risk Management
Compliance Frameworks
Experience conducting cybersecurity maturity assessments and creating strategic improvement roadmaps.
Hands-on experience with ISO 27001-based Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).
Experience supporting or leading NIS2 compliance programs.
Strong expertise in information security processes controls and governance models.
Fluent Dutch language skills (CEFR C2 level).
Preferred Skills
Experience with Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) frameworks and platforms.
Strong knowledge of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Experience advising executive leadership and senior management teams.
Expertise in recognized security frameworks and standards including:
ISO 27000 Series
NIST
COBIT for Security
OWASP
CIS Critical Security Controls
Professional cybersecurity certifications such as:
CISSP
CISM
CEH
CISSP certification is highly desirable.
Nice-to-Have
Background as a Security Architect.
Experience designing enterprise security architectures and security-by-design frameworks.
