Job Summary

We currently have a vacancy for Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator to join the Amazon Australia Team. This position is within the Sort Center reporting into the WHS Manager. It requires working with the WHS team to deliver high standards of safety within our Sort Center. The suitable applicant will be trained in both the standard work and tools used within the WHS function. You will be a strong communicator who values teamwork is proactive about safety someone who can function as a role model and engage in a professional manner with the entire workforce.

This is an hourly paid role working every Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm and may rotate shifts based on business need.


Key job responsibilities
- Identify and inform management of compliance issues safety risks and improvement opportunities through the conduct of daily weekly and monthly inspections
- Facilitate risk assessments and incident investigations
- Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations
- Enter safety incident information into the internal database in a timely manner
- Perform safety observations and audits
- Coach others (Operations etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities (Audits Follow Safety Rules Inspections etc.)
- Participate in process improvement activities and manage actions to completion
- May have additional responsibilities for fire prevention hazardous waste management or other safety related activities depending on the business unit and location

- 1 years of Microsoft Office (Word Excel and Outlook) experience
- Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area including weekends nights and/or holidays
- Bachelors degree in a Safety related field and/or Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent

- Experience in data analysis
- Experience in logistics
