We are currently recruiting Tenancy Officers for Churches of Christ a purpose-driven organisation supporting individuals families and communities across more than 100 locations throughout Queensland and Victoria.

The Role

Were seeking experienced Tenancy Officers to join the Housing Programs teams in Ipswich and Kenmore.

Reporting to the Housing Coordinator youll manage a small tenancy portfolio and play an important role in supporting tenants maintaining quality housing outcomes and ensuring properties and tenancies are effectively managed.

Youll work closely with tenants internal teams and external stakeholders to provide a professional responsive and person-centred service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day tenancy and property matters including allocations rent eligibility assessments and tenancy issues.
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with tenants and provide responsive customer service.
  • Conduct property inspections and coordinate maintenance to help maintain safe quality homes.
  • Monitor rent bonds repayments and tenancy information identifying and addressing emerging issues.
  • Assist with minimising rental loss and supporting sustainable tenancies.
  • Maintain accurate tenancy and property records in accordance with organisational policies and legislation.
  • Support tenant participation engagement and feedback initiatives.
  • Ensure all tenancy activities comply with relevant legislation policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement across housing services.
  • Represent the mission vision and values of Churches of Christ in all interactions.

About You

Youll be a confident and compassionate housing professional who enjoys working with people and is committed to achieving positive outcomes for tenants.

You will ideally have:

  • Certificate IV in Social Housing or a similar qualification or relevant experience in housing or community services.
  • Approximately three years experience in tenancy management or a related service environment.
  • An understanding of housing legislation tenancy management and compliance requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Excellent organisation problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office including Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • A commitment to quality service workplace safety and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
  • Alignment with the mission vision and values of Churches of Christ.

Desirable: Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.

Mandatory Checks

  • National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
  • Working with Children Blue Card (or ability to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check where applicable
