About the role
The Technical Specialist Fire plays a critical role in protecting people property and learning environments across TAFE NSWs extensive statewide portfolio. This specialist position ensures that campuses operate safely and compliantly by providing expert firesafety advice that supports students staff and communities every day.
Reporting to the Manager Maintenance within the Corporate Services Group you will lead firesafety compliance activities across NSWcoordinating annual fire safety statements developing audit programs and advising on legislation standards and risk. Working closely with Facilities teams accredited practitioners regulators and service providers youll translate complex technical requirements into practical solutions and drive consistent bestpractice outcomes across a diverse range of facilities.
About you
You are a capable firesafety professional with experience applying compliance and certification processes in complex building or facilities environments. You hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check and are an Accredited Fire Safety Practitioner or are actively working towards accreditation in accordance with NSW regulatory requirements.
With a relevant technical trade background such as electrical plumbing gas or buildingyou bring strong knowledge of Australian Standards the Building Code of Australia and NSW firesafety legislation. You are confident assessing firesafety systems identifying technical issues and reviewing maintenance recommendations to ensure safe compliant and effective outcomes.
