Job Summary

Looking to step away from shift work while still using your healthcare skills

Join Griffith University as a Technical Officer - Simulation (Nursing and Midwifery) to support the delivery of realistic learning experiences for Nursing and Midwifery students.

This hands-on role involves preparing maintain and supporting clinical teaching laboratories and simulations spaces ensuring equipment facilities and consumables are ready for student learning. Perfect for someone who enjoys the practical side of healthcare this is a technical support role rather than a teaching or clinical care position.

No night shifts no weekends. Weekday hours with shifts between 7am and 6pm and a positive work-life balance.

Heres how youll make it matter:

  • Prepare and maintain clinical teaching laboratories and simulation environments for Nursing and Midwifery students.
  • Provide technical support for practical classes and simulation-based learning activities.
  • Manage equipment consumables stock control and procurement to ensure resources are safe available and fit for purpose.
  • Promote safe and compliant work practices supporting Work Health and Safety requirements across learning spaces.
  • Work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to deliver high-quality student learning experiences and continuous improvement initiatives.

You take pride in creating safe well-prepared learning spaces and enjoy hands-on work. With strong organisational skills attention to detail and a proactive mindset you can manage competing priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.

You will also have:

  • Relevant health qualification or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  • Experience providing clinical laboratory simulation or technical support ideally in healthcare tertiary education or clinical skills environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain safe compliant learning environments with strong knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices.
  • Strong organisational communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Practical experience supporting clinical learning spaces simulation environments equipment and resources with proficiency in Microsoft 365 and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Experience supporting Nursing Midwifery or other Health discipline simulation activities is highly regarded.
  • A current drivers licence is desirable.

This is a continuing full-time position primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site university you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith Universitys sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 4 range $76126 - $80321per annum 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $89067 - $93976 per annum.
