About the Role

Together with families and support providers we support people with a disability to reduce behaviours of concern improve wellbeing and quality of life. Through positive behaviour support strategies and collaboration we support NDIS participants to gain control independence and to make positive lifestyle changes.

Reporting to our Behaviour Support Practice Lead you will support and mentor a team of Behaviour Support Practitioners to ensure a quality service is delivered to NDIS participants in accordance with their individual NDIS plan and regulatory requirements. Team Leaders at Community Solutions do not carry a permanent caseload or have a billing target.

If you are an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner endorsed at Proficient or Advanced capability then this could be the role for you! Other key duties will include:

  • Guiding and coaching practitioners and reviewing positive behaviour support planswith support from your Practice Lead
  • Encouraging a team-oriented approach to reflective practice and evaluation of service delivery
  • Monitoring your teams goals and objectives throughout the year and participating in annual performance reviews
  • Working closely with the team to meetoutput targetswhilst ensuring best practice and excellent stakeholder relationships
  • Developing partnerships with service providers community agencies andgovernment bodies to get the best outcome for our participants
  • Providing professional information and advice to people with disability families staff and managers regarding evidence-based approaches to reduce the impact of challenging behaviour

What you will bring to the role

  • Completed degree qualification (or higher) in Psychology Social Work Developmental Education Counselling or similar - a must
  • Experience mentoring behaviour support practitioners and peer reviewing behaviour support plans
  • An in depth understanding of good clinical practice
  • Understanding of the regulatory requirements under the NDIS Commission as well as the jurisdictional requirements in your state.
  • Knowledge of contemporary practices and philosophies in relation to service provision for people with intellectual and/or cognitive disabilities
  • Endorsement as a Proficient or Advanced Practitioner
  • Strong administration and computer skills experienced in MS Office Word Excel and Outlook

Additional requirements

  • Right to Work in Australia i.e. Australian/NZ Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • A currentWorking with Children Check andNDIS Workers Screening Checkor the willingness to gain these clearances if successful. We will reimburse you the cost of these clearances on commencement
  • Willingness to undertake aFit2Work Police Check
  • A current and validDrivers Licence and ability to drive to site visits and stakeholder meetings
