About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join the Mathematics Faculty at Sheldon College.

This role has a particular focus on delivering QCAA Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods supporting students to develop their mathematical knowledge problem-solving capabilities and confidence. Working with a dynamic team of dedicated educators you will plan and deliver high-quality learning programs that challenge students and support strong academic outcomes.

The successful applicant will contribute to a collaborative faculty environment using contemporary teaching practices digital tools and effective assessment strategies to support student learning and achievement.

Experience and knowledge in preparing students for external examinations and QCAA QCE processes including Endorsement Confirmation and External Marking would be highly regarded.

This is a permanent full-time role commencing in 2027

About you

  • Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications majoring in Mathematics and/or a major or postgraduate qualification in Education.
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Mathematics in a secondary setting.
  • Strong knowledge and experience delivering QCAA Specialist Mathematics and Mathematical Methods.
  • Ability to plan and deliver exceptional Mathematics teaching and learning programs aligned with ACARA and QCAA.
  • Experience preparing students for external examinations is highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of QCAA QCE processes including Endorsement Confirmation and External Marking is highly regarded.
  • Ability to use creative and innovative teaching practices and digital tools to support student learning.
  • Commitment to reflective practice and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to differentiate learning experiences and support students to achieve strong academic outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with students parents and colleagues.
