About the Opportunity
As the System Safety Engineer for Austal Defence Australia (ADA) youll be responsible to support the delivery of the System Safety Program for the Landing Craft Medium Program within the Systems Engineering team. This is not a Work Health and Safety (WHS) related role. This role is an engineering role supporting the design of a ship not WHS site safety compliance.

Whats Involved
- Support the LCM System Safety Program
- Maintain the relevant System Safety documentation (i.e. Hazard Log Hazard Analysis Report)
- Support the conduct of System Safety forums
- Maintain project safety requirements through the engineering change process
- Support planning of verification and validation activities by supporting the creation and maintenance of Acceptance Test Procedures and Functional Tests
- Apply Systems Engineering methods to produce accurate data and documentation
- Ensure processes consider the entire lifecycle of the product/system in the Austal value chain
- Support technical deliverables to achieve system acceptance
- Support continuous improvement activities
Youll Need
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or related discipline
- 12 months experience in Engineering or related specialisation
- Willingness to gain experience in complex defence projects
- Australian citizenship
- Eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance
