Servicing the communities of Cape York with the main office located in Cairns Apunipima delivers public health care and social and emotional well-being programs to community members. About the Opportunity
There is a genuine occupational requirement under Section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) for this position to be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. The position is therefore only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to provide practical administrative and community engagement support to assist with the delivery of the Suicide Prevention Education and Training Program across participating Cape York communities.
Pre-employment screening for vaccination against Vaccine Preventable Diseases will be conducted for the successful applicant.
Skills And Experiences
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current Blue Card positive notice or exemption or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- National Police Check within the last 3 months or willing and able to obtain prior to commencement
- Willingness to enrol in a Certificate III in Community Services Mental Health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Business Administration or qualification relevant to the position.
- Experience providing administrative community engagement or program support
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within a team and contribute to positive community outcomes.
