The Opportunity

BlueScope Building Components is looking for a Supply Chain Project Manager to join the National Supply Chain team. BlueScope Building Components a division of BlueScope in Australia manufactures and markets steel building products solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght Fielders Ranbuild and Kiteleys.

In this permanent full-time position you will lead a diverse portfolio of strategic and operational projects aimed at creating a more efficient consistent and future-ready supply chain. From process optimisation and product rationalisation to automation and AI-enabled initiatives you will help shape how supply chain activities are delivered across our national business.

Working across multiple sites and functions you will turn complex business challenges into practical solutions that simplify work strengthen capability and deliver lasting value. This is a hands-on position for someone who can move comfortably between strategic thinking and practical implementation bringing people together to embed meaningful and sustainable change.

The role can be based in any Australian capital city with key BlueScope locations including Emu Plains and Mascot (NSW) Archerfield (QLD) and Lyndhurst (VIC). We offer a flexible hybrid working model including the opportunity to work from home up to three days per week. As this is a national role occasional travel to BlueScope sites across Australia will be required averaging approximately six trips per year.

What Will You Do

Working across longer-term transformation initiatives and shorter-term operational improvements you will collaborate with supply chain operations sales and technology teams to deliver meaningful change. You will:

  • lead national supply chain improvement projects that enhance efficiency standardise processes and strengthen operational performance
  • partner with supply chain operations sales and technology teams to deliver strategic and operational transformation initiatives
  • identify opportunities to simplify workflows reduce manual activities and introduce automation and digital solutions
  • develop and embed consistent processes procedures and ways of working across multiple sites
  • use operational data and insights to identify constraints prioritise improvements and support informed decision-making
  • guide projects through implementation change adoption and post-implementation support to ensure improvements are successfully embedded

More About You

You are a practical and influential project professional who is comfortable moving between strategy and hands-on delivery. You bring structure to ambiguity build trusted relationships and know how to maintain momentum when outcomes depend on the support of people across different teams functions and locations. You will bring:

  • exceptional influencing skills with the ability to gain buy-in build alignment and achieve outcomes without relying on direct authority
  • experience delivering supply chain logistics operational improvement or transformation projects in a complex business environment
  • a strong understanding of supply chain logistics planning inventory management or scheduling processes
  • demonstrated capability in analysing workflows solving problems and implementing practical sustainable improvements
  • strong communication process documentation and project delivery skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • a proactive technology-confident and hands-on approach with an interest in continuous improvement automation and innovation
