As the Staff Practice and Learning Manager Housing Operations you will play a vital role in embedding the Mission Australia Housing Staff Practice and Learning Framework across the National Housing portfolio. Working at the heart of Housing Operations you will develop practical learning tools resources onboarding supports role-based materials and implementation resources that help translate the framework into consistent day-to-day practice. Your work will support operational roles and teams where staff deliver high-quality services for residents strengthening workforce capability service quality compliance system use customer and business performance and operations.
This role offers a unique opportunity to turn an established Housing Practice and Learning Framework into practical observable and sustainable staff practice. By developing learning materials implementation tools coaching resources and quality practice supports linked to SOPs role guides operational guides quick system reference guides system training QA compliance and performance outcome supports you will help to ensure operational resources are understood embedded assessed and continuously improved in practice embed continual learning improvement. Your work will directly strengthen workforce capability support consistent practice and improve outcomes for the people and communities we support through safe secure and sustainable housing.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Lead and develop a high-performing team fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement
- Embed the Mission Australia Housing Staff Practice and Learning Framework through practical tools learning resources and implementation supports aligned to organisational standards
- Establish and maintain role-based capability frameworks including training requirements and competency standards
- Partner with operational leaders to design and coordinate deliver structured onboarding role-based learning pathways change adoption support and practice development activities
- Develop practical learning resources and varied learning approaches including guides tools system quick reference materials and scenario-based activities to meet different learning needs and support consistent day-to-day practice
- Analyse performance data staff feedback and operational insights to identify capability gaps and improvement opportunities
- Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives that strengthen service delivery and resident outcomes
- Establish evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of learning programs and inform future priorities
- Build strong stakeholder relationships across Housing Operations corporate teams and sector partners
- Support changes to systems processes policies procedures and service models by developing learning and adoption strategies that help staff apply new requirements in practice
Requirements for Success
- Tertiary qualifications in Learning and Development Education Organisational Development Business or a related discipline or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience designing and embedding learning frameworks and capability development tools
- Experience working within housing community services or other regulated service delivery environments
- Proven ability to analyse performance data and apply insights to improve practice and outcomes
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex processes into practical learning solutions for diverse roles teams and learning needs
- Demonstrated understanding of social housing systems in Australia
