About the role

We are looking for a Senior Specialist Data to provide expert data migration guidance for migration from SAP ECC 6.0 to S/4HANA across our global Modern ERP project.

This is a great opportunity for a highly experienced and delivery-focused data specialist to lead data migration activities from ECC to S/4HANA applying strong technical expertise while supporting the structure processes and capability uplift of the data function. This is a full time Fixed Term Contract opportunity that is also Brisbane-based and offers flexible working arrangements.

Reporting to the Data Design Lead and working in a collaborative and innovative environment within our Modern ERP project team you will:

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert in SAP data migration and solution development across the global Modern ERP project

• Support and guide the design and delivery of data migration activities from ECC to S/4HANA applying best-practice frameworks (e.g. Bluefield approaches)

• Define SDT rules mappings transformations and data quality criteria for assigned SAP modules.

• Analyse and compile data to support management reporting metrics and decision-making

• Provide technical guidance to internal teams and vendors ensuring delivery of robust and scalable data solutions

• Collaborate across business functions (HR Finance Maintenance Procurement Payroll) to support migration outcomes

• Contribute to planning structuring and coordination of work across the data team (in support to the Data Lead)

• Ensure adherence to processes standards and governance across all solution development activities

About you

To be successfully considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate:

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

• Significant SAP functional experience in one or more ERP modules Finance (FI/CO) Procurement (MM) Sales & Distribution (SD) Inventory (WM) Plant Maintenance (PM) etc.

• Deep understanding of SAP data structures and table relationships within the allocated module(s)

• Prior experience on SAP data migration programmes Bluefield or Greenfield S/4HANA transition strongly preferred; experience with DMLT LTMC or comparable migration tooling an advantage

• Ability to write and interpret complex selection logic and data quality rules; comfort working with technical query structures even where execution is performed by others

• MS SQL Development experience

• Strong stakeholder management capable of leading SME conversations navigating differing business views and securing sign-off on contested design decisions

• Self-directing able to operate independently within a defined framework exercise judgement on local design decisions and recognise when to escalate cross-functional issues

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain analytical concepts to non-technical audiences

Youll join the Modern ERP Program a multidisciplinary team bringing together technology process data and change specialists to reshape how work happens across Rio Tinto. Were modernising a 20yearold ERP system and redesigning core business processes to improve safety efficiency and ignite innovation.
