Location: Parramatta / Hybrid (50% in office)

Employment type: Ongoing Full time

Salary: Clerk Grade 11/12 ($154231 - $178369 pa) plus employers contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The Senior Operations Manager (Maintenance) leads maintenance and asset management services across the DCJ property portfolio ensuring safe compliant and customer-focused outcomes. The role drives operational performance contract management and continuous improvement to support the Departments strategic and operational objectives.

What youll do

The Senior Operations Manager (Maintenance) leads the maintenance function. Supporting the Associate Director in the delivery of strategic asset and maintenance outcomes.

The role is responsible for managing the team contractor performance building strong stakeholder relationships undertaking site visits and ensuring maintenance services are safe compliant and customer focused.

Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing maintenance programs monitoring service delivery and performance managing operational risks providing strategic advice and driving continuous improvement to support effective asset management and operational outcomes.

The Maintenance team forms part of the Major Program Delivery Division within Infrastructure & Assets and is responsible for delivering maintenance services across the DCJ property portfolio. Led by the Associate Director the team includes the Senior Operations Manager (Maintenance) Lead Maintenance and Maintenance Coordinators who work collaboratively with service providers stakeholders and operational sites across NSW.

The team offers a supportive customer-focused and collaborative environment that values continuous improvement innovation safety and compliance while working together to deliver quality asset and maintenance outcomes.

What were looking for

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and strategic leader with strong experience in maintenance operations contractor and stakeholder management and the delivery of asset management outcomes.

They will have a proven ability to lead teams drive performance manage competing priorities and build positive relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication problem-solving and decision-making skills combined with a strong customer focus and commitment to continuous improvement.

Strong contract management procurement and vendor performance management experience.

Knowledge of asset management principles maintenance planning compliance requirements and risk management.

Desirable qualifications experience and skills:

  • Tertiary qualifications in asset management facilities management construction property business management or a related discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading maintenance facilities or asset management functions within a large and complex property portfolio.
  • Proven experience managing major maintenance contracts service providers and commercial performance to achieve organisational outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of asset management principles maintenance planning governance risk management and legislative compliance requirements.
  • Experience with maintenance budgeting forecasting financial management and performance reporting.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse asset maintenance and financial data to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Highly developed leadership skills with experience building high-performing teams developing capability and driving a positive team culture.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience providing strategic advice and support to senior leaders on maintenance operational and asset management matters.
  • Experience working within a government public sector or similarly complex operational environment would be highly regarded.
