We act for the roleThe Senior Officer - Recovery (Nationwide) is responsible for developing and delivering targeted support and guidance to states and territories to ensure they can effectively recover from disasters and other crises. This role involves working at a national level to increase knowledge and understanding of recovery processes advocate for best practices and address the psychosocial needs of disaster-affected people and to day you will:Develop and refine national policies and practices for disaster recovery ensuring alignment with evidence-based and best-practice high-quality resources training tools and workshops to enhance disaster recovery efforts across all states and community development principles to build recovery capacity and capability within communities and maintain collaborative relationships across the emergency management and recovery sectors promoting and enhancing national disaster recovery regular monitoring evaluation and reporting to assess the effectiveness of national recovery policies and initiatives using data to inform practice and you will bringDemonstrated sound technical knowledge expertise and understanding of disaster recovery and community development ability to develop and deliver training workshops and advocacy and communication skills with the ability to influence analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess evaluate and solve problems and exercise initiative and judgment where practices and procedures are not clearly defined with the ability to use data to inform to work under general direction from senior employees and work with teams and people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environmentAbility to set priorities plan and organise their own work and that of lower classified staff and/or volunteersA valid Working With Children Check (or the ability obtain one) is a mandatory requirement for this roleBenefits that act for you while you act for humanityWork flexibility: Australian Red Cross operates under a hybrid working model which includes two days on-site and three days from home providing you more work/life balanceFinancial wellbeing: In addition to your salary you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your salary.
