Whats the role
As Senior Manager BT Compliance youll play a key role in helping BT Financial Group (Westpacs wealth management division) navigate an evolving regulatory environment while protecting customers and supporting sustainable business outcomes. Based in Sydney or Adelaide with a permanent full-time opportunity available youll be a senior leader within BTs second-line Compliance function setting strategic compliance priorities embedding a strong risk cultureproviding oversight guidance and challenge across a broad range of compliance activities.
Youll lead the review and monitoring of the compliance and conduct management framework policies and obligations to ensure they are effectively embedded across BT. Youll play a lead role in completing complex compliance assessments support regulatory inquiries and investigations provide compliance advice and drive readiness for regulatory change.
Working closely with senior leaders risk teams Legal Regulatory Affairs and business stakeholders this is a role where youll influence outcomes build strong partnerships and help shape a proactive risk culture. Youll also support and coach a high-performing team of compliance and risk professionals creating an environment where people can grow collaborate and do their best work.
What do I need
Youll bring strong compliance risk and stakeholder engagement skills along with the ability to make sound decisions in a complex environment.
- Strong understanding of financial services regulation and the ability to interpret evolving regulatory requirements specifically compliance requirements within a Wealth Management setting and products.
- Experience providing oversight challenge and guidance across compliance risk and governance activities.
- Strong written communication skills to translate complex topics with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior stakeholders across diverse teams.
- Strong judgement when managing complex issues incidents regulatory matters or remediation activities.
- Ability to garner insights into compliance risks through efficient use of data and automation.Analytical and data-driven thinking with the ability to identify trends insights and emerging compliance risks.
