This is a fantastic opportunity to join the next phase of the Building Commission within NSW. Customer Capability & Engagement

In this role you will work within the external Education team within the Industry Customer Capability and Engagement Directorate. The team delivers high quality online micro-skill modules for the construction industry and digital education resources for traders and consumers.

You will support the development and delivery of education and training products associated with the new legislative reforms with the Building Approvals Framework including eLearning modules consumer and trader education webinar content user guides training resources and industry onboarding materials. The role requires the ability to translate complex regulatory technical and operational information into accessible learning experiences that support capability uplift user adoption and industry compliance. You will work closely with internal subject matter experts key stakeholders and partner agencies across government to transform complex information into effective and engaging learning materials supporting the delivery of a significant digital transformation project and cross-agency collaboration initiatives.


Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop a range of learning and support resources including eLearning modules webinar content user guides training materials onboarding resources and educational guidance materials.

  • Write clear structured and engaging learning materials ensuring alignment with learning objectives and audience needs.

  • Plan and develop scripts for consumer education videos and other multimedia learning products ensuring they are engaging accurate and concise.

  • Develop and deliver webinars presentations and other virtual learning activities to support industry capability engagement and onboarding initiatives

  • Apply best practice in learning design and instructional writing to create content that is effective interactive and accessible.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to extract technical and regulatory information and transform it into engaging learning experiences for a variety of audiences.

  • Review update and maintain education-related website content to ensure information is accurate current and aligned with organisational priorities and learning initiatives.

  • Write educational guidance materials briefs and supporting communications to promote and support learning outcomes.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in instructional design learning content development training or a similar role.

  • Experience developing educational content across a variety of formats including eLearning guides webinars and multimedia resources.

  • Experience writing scripts for video digital learning or multimedia content.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical regulatory or operational information into engaging learner-friendly content.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts and stakeholders

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles learning design methodologies and contemporary educational practice

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously.

  • Preferabley able to use digital learning authoring tools including Articulate Rise HowToo or other similar platforms.

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
