The Role
We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer Drainage with strong experience in transport or infrastructure projects to join our Melbourne team. This is a permanent opportunity supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across VIC and nationally.
With a strong pipeline of work we are looking for a capable and motivated drainage professional to contribute to the delivery of drainage design on complex projects with limited exposure to flood-related analysis where required. You will play a key role in delivering technical outputs while supporting junior engineers and contributing to high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
With 6 years experience this role presents an opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and take on increased responsibility across project delivery. You will work closely with experienced leaders to deliver high-quality analysis and design outcomes that meet client and industry standards.
You will have gained your experience within an engineering consultancy (or similar environment) and bring a proactive collaborative approach strong attention to detail and the ability to contribute confidently across multiple project stages. This role has a strong focus on drainage design with exposure to flooding considered supplementary.
About You
Suitable applicants will have:
- Degree qualified Bachelor of Engineering (Civil Engineering or similar)
- 6 years of Australian experience in drainage design and stormwater management
- Demonstrated experience on infrastructure projects (roads highways rail or urban development)
- Strong familiarity with Austroads Part 5 5A & 5B and Australian Rainfall and Runoff (2019)
- Proficient in 12d Dynamic Drainage Analysis
- Ability to deliver technical design packages and contribute to project outcomes
- Experience supporting and mentoring junior engineers
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive approach with the ability to manage time and priorities across multiple deliverables
- Eligible to obtain RPEV (or working towards registration)
- Exposure to flood modelling tools (e.g. TUFLOW) is beneficial but not essential
