Whats the role

This opportunity sits within our Financial Markets team and is focused on helping business customers manage their foreign exchange needs with confidence. Youll work with a portfolio of wholesale classified customers building trusted relationships and providing practical guidance on FX products risk management strategies and market opportunities.

This is a highly relationship-focused role where youll partner closely with customers bankers and internal stakeholders to deliver tailored foreign exchange solutions that support customer goals. Youll identify opportunities to grow existing relationships support new business opportunities and help customers better understand and manage currency risk.

As a member of the Relationship FX team youll also share your market knowledge and insights with colleagues contribute to team capability and play a key role in delivering strong customer outcomes. If you enjoy building relationships providing expert advice and working in a fast-paced Financial Markets environment this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact

Based in Melbourne this is a full-time permanent opportunity. The role is primarily office-based reflecting the highly collaborative nature of the work. The successful candidate will also be expected to meet with customers in person as required. We recognise that flexibility is important and will accommodate individual circumstances where possible.

What do I need

Youll bring strong relationship management skills and a genuine interest in helping customers navigate foreign exchange markets and risk management opportunities. Key capabilities include:

  • Experience working with foreign exchange products and supporting customers with FX transactions and risk management strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop trust and influence customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to identify opportunities to grow and deepen customer relationships.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to explain market insights and complex concepts in a clear and practical way.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and applicable AFMA accreditation or the ability to obtain and maintain the accreditation required for the role.
  • A sound understanding of risk compliance and customer obligations within a Financial Markets or Business Banking environment.
