A unique opportunity has arisen in Norton Rose FulbrightsBanking and Finance group in Sydney for a Senior Associate withstrong demonstrated experience in derivatives transactions but whois also looking to expand their expertise to other areas of bankingand finance practice. The role will principally involve workingwith our derivatives partner Vittorio Casamento advising domesticand international financial institutions on complex OTC derivativestransactions and related derivatives regulations.

In this role the successful candidate will also have theopportunity to expand their practice and will be encouraged to workon a variety of other transactions in the structured and generalcorporate/property finance space including:

• asset equipment and receivables financing
• financial services & banking regulation
• corporate & working capital finance
• property finance

Our dedicatedglobal derivatives practice advises leadingfinancial institutions and major corporates on complex transactionsacross Europe the United States Canada Latin America AsiaAustralia Africa andthe Middle East. The breadth and depthof our experience ensures that we are at the forefront of newdevelopments and techniques and our clients benefit from ourexperience and understanding of the regulatory frameworksurrounding international derivatives markets. We advise globalinvestment banks fund managers corporates hedge fundsclearinghouses and derivatives service providers on the entirespectrum of derivatives transactions. Our trade organizationclients include the International Swaps and Derivatives Association(ISDA) the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET) FIAEurope and the International Islamic Financial Market (IIFM).

Norton Rose Fulbrights Sydney Banking and Finance group workson a range of other transactions ranging from property financeacquisition finance and project finance to debt capital marketsand general corporate banking. Clients include the major Australianbanks Australian and global investment banks and many otherinstitutions active in the Asia-Pacific region. As part of thewider Norton Rose Fulbright network many of the transactions theteam is involved with have cross-border elements requiring a highlevel of collaboration with Norton Rose Fulbright colleagues inother offices particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.

Requirements

The key requirements for this role are as follows:

• Demonstrated experience in derivatives and structured finance gained at a reputable national or international law firm or in-house at a leading financial institution
• At least 5 years post qualification experience
• Ability to work independently and also as a part of a team with multiple partners within the group
• Ability to build and grow a network and assist with business development and marketing initiatives
• Eligible to practice law in Australia
